OSSIPEE — A Rochester dump truck driver who was under the influence of illegal drugs when he caused the crash that killed an Ossipee grandmother last May was sentenced last Friday to five to 10 years in prison after a hearing in which the daughter of the late Dorothy Marshall told the court that she unknowingly treated him at a hospital following the crash.

The driver, Robert Gifford, 55, said he plans to better himself and help prevent others from making the same mistakes.
