William Piekut: Eldridge makes decisions based on fact, experience

To the editor:
I am writing to express my support for Tim Eldridge for Effingham selectman. For three terms I served with Tim on the board of selectmen; I found him to be a considerate and honest person. Tim makes decisions based on fact and experience and with respect for the taxpayers of Effingham. He would be ready to begin on day one to conduct the business of the town, without requiring on the job training. He understands the selectman’s role as a leader, and recognizes the multitude of duties required of a small town board member.
As a selectman, Tim already has a record of accomplishments to his credit, and as transportation director for a neighboring school district, he is well versed in personnel management and budgeting. This unique experience has been and will be an asset to the board of selectmen and the Effingham Town Office. Tim is a dedicated family man and has shown his commitment to the town by choosing to build his home, raise his children, and operate his business in Effingham. I would encourage other Effingham families to follow Tim’s lead by getting involved, and consider running for office to better shape the future of the town.
Tim has the ability and energy to be an effective selectman for Effingham as the town faces the challenges of the 21st century. I urge you to cast your vote for Tim Eldridge on Election Day, Tuesday, March 12.
