Corabi Foundation raises money for The Community School
Published Date
The family of Eleanor Margaret Homeyer (Grande), who passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 have established The Corabi Foundation to honor Eleanor and to raise money to support The Community School, a favorite of the Homeyer family.
Eleanor's family immigrated in the first decade of the last century from the Italy and made their homes in Boston, Philadelphia and northern New Hampshire. Her great-grandfather, Sam Corabi, had six children — all girls — that were the matriarchs of this clan of hard working women who, like their father, set a standard for the family. Eleanor was the last child of the youngest of the six sisters, Mary Corabi Grande-Kangas. It is that linage that Eleanor wanted to honor with a scholarship and so the Corabi Foundation Grant was established to complete Eleanor's wishes to have a place to continue to help others.
Donations to the foundation can be sent to The Corabi Foundation, Box 64 Chocorua, NH, 03817. Make gift checks out to The Corabi Foundation. Those who wish to honor Eleanor may include her name in the memo. The family will keep people posted on future fundraising events.
