Food safety training offered March 20

UNH Cooperative Extension will be presenting a free, two-hour program on safe food handling. This training opportunity is for food managers and handlers in restaurants, ski areas, and schools.

The workshop is being held on Wednesday, March 20, 1–3 p.m., at The White Mountain Hotel & Resort in Hales Location. The workshop will be presented by Extension Field Specialist, Ann Hamilton. Hamilton is a certified ServSafe instructor.

The Safety Awareness in the Food Environment (SAFE) workshop explores the alternatives and consequences of various "risky" situations that can happen in any food service establishment. Topics covered include time and temperature of cooking and holding food, personal hygiene, and safe food handling techniques. Certificates of attendance will be issued.

For more information and to register, call the Carroll County office of UNH Cooperative Extension at 447-3834 or 1 (800) 322-4166. Preregistration is requested by March 18. This workshop can also be presented on site for staff in any food service establishment. Please contact Ann Hamilton at the above number if you are interested in hosting a program at your establishment.
