George 'Stubby' Bucknell



George "Stubby" Bucknell, 77,passed away Feb. 20, 2013 at the Villages Regional Hospital in Lady Lake, Fla.

Born in Porter, Maine Sept. 25, 1935 to the late George Bucknell Sr. and Doris (nee Rice) Peterson. He was a Army vereran serving from 1956 through 1962. He retired from Fairpoint Telephone company in 2000. He resided in Fryeburg, Maine for 31 years and wintered for past 11 years in Lady Lake  with wife Janet. George was past president of the Interstate Sno-Goers snowmobile club in Fryeburg.

Survivors include his wife Janet of 54 years; four children, Lynn Bucknellm, of Windham, Maine, Carl, of Acushnet, Mass., Lori Tibbetts and Leigh Kiesman, both of Denmark, Maine; a brother, Richard, of Canyon City, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
