Jean (Peaslee) WhittenJean (Peaslee) Whitten, 79, of Middle Road in Tuftonboro, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at Golden View Health Care Center in Meredith.She was born July 13, 1933 in North Sandwich, the daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Moody) Peaslee. She had attended local one room schools in Sandwich and Whiteface and later went on to attend the Quimby School in Center Sandwich.
Jean served as a 4-H leader for many years and was a member of the New Hampshire Farm Bureau. She was also a member of the Hikers and worked as a Nurse's Aid at Huggins Hospital, Wolfeboro, for many years.
She was the widow of the late Charles F. Whitten, of Tuftonboro.
Jean is survived by her children, MaryAnn Stockman, of Tuftonboro,; Gary Stockman and his wife Tracy, of Tuftonboro; Jim Stockman and his wife, Patty, of Tuftonboro; and Brian Stockman and his wife, Marybeth, of Tuftonboro; grandchildren, Rebecca Urquhart, Scott Urquhart, Payde Stockman, Ali Stockman, Mickayla Grasse-Stockman, Sarah Grasse-Crabtree and Danny Kelley; her great granddaughters, Margaret, Katelyn and Lillian Urquhart.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church in Wolfeboro later in the spring, followed by a burial in the Hersey Cemetery in Wolfeboro.
